Brand New Matric Card

Check out my new matric card. We've all been waiting for this special day to come; the day where a certain photographer from a certain company directs us to sit on the purple chair in front of a blue background. It's definitely not similar to our previous group photo-shoot though. This time it's personal. Something that we will wear around our necks for a period of one whole year. Something some of us might lose one morning when the bus is already parked outside and we're not even done with our hair yet. lol. Something memorable. Something special and irreplaceable. It's not like there's a second shot. It's there and will always be there(dramatic, I know). No more checking in the mirror for an unidentified green object stuck in the middle of our teeth. This is it. The photographer raises the digital camera and counts to three...SNAP! A smile that literally will last forever.

Of Sandcastles and Faith

Shalom, as promised I will update my blog once again. Happy Sunday by the way. Hope you guys out there spent enough time reflecting on your entire week and spending some quality time with your loved ones on this wonderful day. It's quite sunny and somewhat windy here in Kuantan. Love the warm evening breeze. reminded me of home. Sobs. Anyway, went to church as usual this morning. Father Danny just came back all the way from Indonesia for a meeting and it's been quiet here in St. Thomas Church as he was not around for two whole weeks. Miss his cooking by the way (chapati and lap changs...yummy).

So anyhoo, there was this guy called Martin Jalleh here at church just now and he was giving a terrific speech on parenting and growing in faith with your children. His speech was brief; of about 30 minutes and a very moving one indeed. Made me thought about mom and dad. He talks about success and broken homes. He related the two topics together and explained in the most impressive tone of voice ever. I don't know why but this man has an audacity that none of us could understand and it actually made us all "tersentap". With his broad language and convincing gestures, this man might have been somewhere overseas. Anyway, what he tried to point out was people with broken homes or family are not necessarily happy with their so-called "success". BMWs, women, condos, parties, iPhones, mansions, vacations and executive offices. Are these really what we aim for when we talk about success? Many of these people are very fortunate indeed to have everything that anyone could've wanted. The things we see in TV and on shop windows; they all have it. But happiness? Can you put a price on that? (...with Jessie J's song playing in the background)

But yeah, Christ does want us to be successful in our lives. Who doesn't? Our parents for instance. (Hi mummy & daddy!!) Spending thousands maybe millions of dollars just to send us abroad and bringing back not just degrees but smiles. :) My parents though did not do all of these but what can I say; do I need all of those? I am contented and proud of where I stand now. I have such wonderful parents that I can't explain in exact words how much I love them. Their over-flowing love is enough to keep me going and gave me strength to do my best. And not to forget Him. My parents NEVER forget to place a priority on each and every one of their child; to learn the Bible, to say grace before every single family dinner, to kneel and ask for forgiveness before going to bed. My parents never fail to let us know that God is watching over us no matter where we are; in Kuantan or at home or even overseas. They raised us all strong and tough in faith and in morality.

Mr. Martin Jalleh also mentioned these metaphores; sandcastles and rock-castles. These castles are like our faith. I reflected right at that moment. Am I a sandcastle; vulnerable and easily washed away by the waves? Or am I a rock-castle; hard and unbreakable---prominent to the vicious winds and waves. I smiled. I knew my answer and I hope all of you out there know yours. Don't be shaken with what we come across every single day in our lives. Get a grip PEOPLE!! Are you a sandcastle or a rock-castle? Those materials are just materials. They're not forever.

Go home and hug your brothers and sisters. Give your parents a kiss every now and then no matter how old you are. Ashame is when you don't know how to love and that you are actually loved by them. These are the people that would die for you, or maybe with you. Take note: success only comes after faith.

Dedicated to mum & dad. May God bless you both whenever and wherever. <3

Homesick

Hey ho, I guess it's been months or probably years (Nah, I'm born an exaggerator) since the last time I've blogged about anything. So, imma start a new resolution starting from now on forward. Jeremiah's August 2011 Resolution: BLOG ABOUT EVERY SINGLE THING THAT I SEE AND HEAR AND SMELL AND FEEL AND THINK. Mind-boggling? I think not. Anyway, still hoping this un-oiled-misused-cramped brain of mine can still manifest enough topics for you guys to keep on reading.

Well, here's something to start off with; my sister, my lovely-sweet-gila-20-year-old sister just posted on my Facebook wall saying she'd bought me a new pair of Lacoste shoes. Noticed how I bolded and Italicized the label "Lacoste"? It's expensive okay? Anyhooo, she's been travelling a lot lately and I just miss her to death. My sister and I were like two peas in a pod back in the days. Grasshopper-catching, running around naked, building dis-configured sandcastles on the beach, taking pictures together along with our party-rocking parents, Chris and Ramuni. Now that I am soooooo far away from home, specifically 70,000 miles away, I'm missing all of those "moments" badly. Miss you sis, pops, mum and lil' monkeys too. Miss my Rottweiller named Skipper. Homesick. Arhh, the agony is killing me. However, Kuantan is not that of a bad place. It's basically a small city looking not much like home at all (calm down Jeremiah, calm down) and I have mates. Mates I can actually count on. Like one of the sayings I got from a movie, "Bros before hoes..." LOL I guess I'm quite lucky to have met them. God lessen out my burdens; maybe. Still anticipating to come home though. Just a few weeks left and I'll be on that plane back home.

So, I guess that's it for now. (awww...sobs) Will be posting more topics tomorrow hopefully. I'll promise to find time for Mr. Blogger right here. TTFN :)

NEW!! NEW!! NEW!!

You might have noticed that this time---my pictures are a bit weird and out of place. It's just a new "thing" that I'm trying to perfect. Been experimenting with a few odd objects and stuffs. Here is how they turn out. :P

Strings...one of my favorite :)

Saw this in an article I read. Love the inspiration. Stool?
Yeah, hillarious. :)

CFC? One word. Ozone layer (that's two words..) :D

Yeah, I know. More flowers. Love 'em. :)

...been taking pictures and pictures of random flowers growing on the side of the road. Haha. The photo-taking session was a bit challenging but the outcomes---I LIKE. Hope you do too. Comments are highly appreciated. :)

Had problems editing this one. In the end, I gave
it a black and white effect and "motioned" the sides.

Randomly picked--all smiles. :)

Took this one with a black cardboard in the background and
a table lamp to give it a "shadow-highlight" effect, played around with the
colors and hue---ta-da!

Took this picture with a white-blank A4 sized paper--against a window.
Love the sunlight entering it. Took a snap of it from the front--love
the silhouette of the flower. xoxo

Using the same old-dried-out flower (sorry sis),
I've come up with the idea of a vintage piece and placing
a blurred-out picture of blue curtains on top of it. :)

Dandelions in September

Me + Milo..paws forever. Love ya, Milo. :P

Taken on my way back home from the park---was raining so, had to take a shot

Serenading myself to oblivion. LOL :D

Shot this picture at the back of my sister's car. Driving with attitude, huh?

Love the idea of "us" holding "paws" together. Haha

Milo and Atek. The few I couldn't live without. xoxo
